बार काउंसिल ऑफ इंडिया से मान्य विधि (कानून) की डिग्री तथा अंतिम तिथि तक सिविल व आपराधिक न्यायालयों में अधिवक्ता के रूप में कम से कम 7 वर्ष का निरंतर अभ्यास (सेवारत उम्मीदवारों हेतु अधिवक्ता व न्यायिक मिलाकर 7 वर्ष)। जम्मू-कश्मीर का डोमिसाइल या लद्दाख का निवासी होना और उर्दू पढ़ने-लिखने में दक्षता आवश्यक। आयु 35-45 वर्ष (आवेदन की अंतिम तिथि को)।
